Input Shaft rebuild or change
Input shaft changes:Each Atlas is custom built to fit your vehicle specifications.Many times we find that customers end up changing drivetrain components, which then also requires changes to the Atlas.The most common change is the input shaft spline to match a new transmission.The Atlas input can be changed without too many difficulties.
Some additional components will be required when changing input shafts.
Parts required changing out to a new front input Atlas 2 Speed:
PNAB1010 -Input seal kit for 29, 31, 32, 34 & 35 splined input shafts
PNAB1011 -Input seal kit for 10, 21, 23, 25, 27 & 28 splined input shafts
The input shafts have undergone one change over the years which were the internal spline of the drive gear that fastens to the shaft.The splines that have been used are a 6 spline and a 32 spline.We have made it fairly simple to identify which application you have by adding a "G" to the four digit serial number of each case that has the 32 spline drive gear requirements. In 2009 we switched to a 6 or 7 digit number machined into the case, these cases do not have a "G" on them but they are the 32 spline input to gear applications.
Atlas 2 speed inputs: Atlas serial number with a "G" at the beginning or is a 6 or 7 digit serial number. We have stopped manufacturing some of the 6 spline inputs, the list below is the current 6 spline options but please call to check availability if doing a input change on a early transfer case.

The input shafts for the Atlas 4 speed are late model stock New Process inputs gears.These are the new gear pitch design from New Process.If the wrong year input is used damage can occur to the planetary assembly.The 4 speed case requires the disassembly of the planetary housing.

(1) 305307 -Input pocket bearing
(1) 305308 -Input pocket bearing (used on 29 & 34 input gear only)
(1) 305300 -Input bearing (except 31& 34 spline)
(1) 340407 -Snap ring

305023L -Long 23 spline input
305032-32 spline input
305023S - Short 23 spline input
305027-27 spline input

305029-29 spline input
31 & 34 spline inputs use a larger bearing and bearing retainer. Switching to one of these input splines or from one of these spline to one of the other inputs listed above will require other components. Please call for these parts & prices.
